VW Polo
South Africa’s best-selling hatchback and the easiest VW to find used spares for. Playa, 9N, 6R, 6C and the current AW car have all been built or sold here in huge numbers, so engines, gearboxes, panels and lights are plentiful.
VW Golf
Eight generations deep in South Africa and every one of them still on the road somewhere. Golf spares demand spans Mk1 restoration parts, the huge Mk4 and Mk5 pool, and GTI and R performance parts for the newer cars. Mk4 and Mk5 stock is by far the deepest of the lot.
VW Tiguan
The Tiguan is the VW SUV South Africans actually buy, which makes it one of the busiest models on the used-spares market. Mk1 5N cars are now firmly in the second-hand parts age; Mk2 and Allspace demand is climbing fast.
VW Caddy
The workhorse of South African small business. Caddy panel vans, Maxi long-wheelbase versions and the Kombi passenger models rack up serious mileage, so used engines, gearboxes, clutches and side doors are constantly in demand. Most reach the breakers well past 250 000 km, and what fails on them is entirely predictable.
VW Amarok
A double-cab that gets used like a bakkie should — towing, loading and gravel travel. Used Amarok spares centre on the 2.0 BiTDI and 3.0 V6 TDI drivetrain, 8-speed autos, diffs and the body panels that gravel roads punish. Trim level matters once you get to bumpers and lights.
VW Touareg
A big, complicated luxury SUV that becomes a used-parts customer the moment its warranty ends. Air suspension, V6 and V8 TDI engines, transfer cases and electronic modules are the Touareg enquiries we see week in and week out. Franchise dealer prices make second-hand the only realistic route on most of them.
VW Beetle
Two very different cars under one badge. Air-cooled Type 1 Beetles were built in Uitenhage for decades and still run here; the New Beetle and A5 are Golf-based moderns. Parts demand splits neatly between the two, and the two are sourced from completely different yards.
VW Transporter
The panel van and Kombi that South African tour operators, shuttles and trades have run for four decades. T4 and T5 spares dominate enquiries; T6 demand is growing as the first high-mileage fleet vans come off the road. Sliding doors, seats and trim sell as fast as engines.

Engine Parts
Everything that bolts to or lives inside a VW engine — heads, blocks, turbos, pumps, manifolds and mountings. Most stock is stripped from low-mileage Golf, Polo, Jetta and Tiguan units and checked for compression and oil pressure before it leaves the yard.
Transmission
Manual boxes, DSG units, clutches, driveshafts and everything that gets power to the wheels. VW gearbox codes matter more than model names here — a 02J out of a Golf 4 will not talk to a Polo 6R, so send us the letters off the casing.
Brakes
Calipers, discs, ABS pumps, master cylinders and boosters for the full VW range. Braking parts are the one area where we will tell you to buy new rather than used if the wear is marginal — everything we do sell used is measured and photographed first.
Suspension
Shocks, struts, arms, joints, bearings and steering components. South African road surfaces are hard on VW front suspension, so this is one of the busiest sections in the yard — most enquiries here start with a knock over speed bumps.
Electrical
Alternators, starters, modules, sensors, switches and looms. Modern VWs run everything through coded control units, so we record the part number and software version off each unit we strip and quote you against yours, not against a model year.
Lighting
Headlights, tail lights, fog lamps and indicators across the VW range. Lighting is one of the most-requested sections after an accident claim, and matching the exact facelift variant matters — a pre-facelift Polo lamp will not sit right in a facelift bumper.
Cooling
Radiators, intercoolers, water pumps, fans and the whole air conditioning side. Summer temperatures in Gauteng and Limpopo punish VW cooling systems, and an overheating engine is the fastest way to turn a small repair into a cylinder head bill.
Body Parts
Panels, doors, bumpers, glass and mirrors for the VW range. Most of this stock comes off insurance write-offs, so a panel that is undamaged on the opposite side of the car is often in better condition than the one you are replacing.
Exhaust
Manifolds, cats, DPFs, downpipes and silencers. Emissions parts carry real value in scrap terms, so we log the numbers stamped on every catalytic converter and DPF we pull and quote against the exact unit you are replacing.
