Used VW Cooling for Sale
Radiators, intercoolers, water pumps, fans and the whole air conditioning side. Summer temperatures in Gauteng and Limpopo punish VW cooling systems, and an overheating engine is the fastest way to turn a small repair into a cylinder head bill.
Cooling we carry
Radiators
Engine radiators for petrol and diesel VWs, with and without the aircon condenser attached. Stone damage to the core and split plastic end tanks are the two failures we see most, and we pressure-check every radiator before it goes out.
Intercoolers
Front-mounted and integrated intercoolers off turbo TDI and TSI models, plus the boost pipes and clamps. Oil pooling inside the core is normal on a high-mileage turbo car, but a bent core or split end tank means boost leaks and lost power.
Water Pumps
Belt-driven and chain-driven water pumps, including the electric auxiliary pumps on TSI engines. The plastic impellers used on later pumps shear off the shaft and the engine overheats with no warning and no visible leak at all.
Thermostats
Thermostats and the plastic housings they sit in. A thermostat stuck open leaves the temperature gauge sitting low and the heater blowing cold, which costs fuel every trip, and the housings themselves warp and weep at the gasket face.
Cooling Fans
Radiator fan assemblies with the shroud, motor and control module. In stop-start traffic a dead fan will cook an engine within minutes, and on many VWs the fan module sits behind the front bumper where water gets to it and corrodes the pins.
Expansion Tanks
Coolant expansion bottles with their caps and level sensors. The plastic goes brittle with heat cycles and splits along the seam, and a weak cap alone will let the system boil over, so we sell the cap with the bottle whenever we have both.
Aircon Condensers
Air conditioning condensers and driers that sit ahead of the radiator. They take the full force of road debris and corrode at the coast, and a pinhole leak means the gas is gone within a week no matter how many times it gets regassed.
Aircon Compressors
Air conditioning compressors and their clutch assemblies. When a compressor seizes it shreds the belt and shuts the whole engine bay down, and the debris contaminates the lines, so the drier should be replaced with any used compressor you fit.
Heater Matrix
Heater cores and the blower housings around them. A sweet smell and misting windscreen means the matrix is leaking coolant into the cabin, and because the dash usually has to come out, buying a sound used core is only half the job.
