Crafters live a brutal life in South Africa. Most are converted — 22-seat staff transport, courier body, ambulance, mobile clinic — and they run long distances fully loaded, which shows up in exactly the parts we get asked for. First-generation vans built on the Mercedes Sprinter platform run the five-cylinder 2.5 TDI in BJK, BJL and BJM tunes; these are known for injector and turbo failure and for cracked cylinder heads once cooling has been neglected, so complete second-hand engines and heads are the volume seller. Later 2.0 TDI and BiTDI CKUB, CKTB and CKUC engines bring DPF, EGR cooler and timing chain enquiries instead. On the body side, sliding side door rollers and tracks, rear barn doors and their hinges, high-roof panels, and front bumpers and headlights dominate. Because conversions vary so much, tell us the wheelbase, roof height and whether the van is panel, crew cab or chassis cab before we quote.

Gearboxes

Turbochargers

Cylinder Heads

Doors
Browse all VW doors in stock, shells and complete units. A complete door with glass, regulator, lock and trim already inside is usually the cheaper route once you price those parts separately, and we list the colour code on every shell.
Radiators
Engine radiators for petrol and diesel VWs, with and without the aircon condenser attached. Stone damage to the core and split plastic end tanks are the two failures we see most, and we pressure-check every radiator before it goes out.
Alternators
Alternators from 90A to 180A output, including the regulated units on start-stop models. A battery light with a low charging voltage is normally the regulator rather than the whole alternator, but a tested used unit gets the car back on the road same day.
Starters
Starter motors for petrol and diesel VWs, including the heavier units diesels need and the reinforced starters fitted to start-stop cars. A single loud click with a healthy battery is nearly always the solenoid, which comes as part of the assembly.
