Used VW Fuel System for Sale
Tanks, pumps, rails, filters and senders. Fuel contamination from dodgy filling stations is a real problem on South African roads, and it usually takes out the in-tank pump and the filter together rather than one on its own.
Fuel System we carry
Fuel Pumps
In-tank low pressure fuel pumps and complete sender assemblies. A pump that whines loudly and cuts out when the tank runs low is on borrowed time, and the flange sizes differ between petrol and diesel models, so we match on part number.
Fuel Tanks
Plastic and steel fuel tanks with their straps and filler necks. Tanks get scraped and punctured on rough farm and township roads, and a used tank must come with the correct filler neck because petrol and diesel necks are deliberately different sizes.
Fuel Rails
Fuel rails with their pressure sensors and regulators, for both port-injection and direct-injection VW engines. Common-rail diesel rails run extreme pressures, so the sensor and pressure control valve on the rail matter as much as the rail itself.
Fuel Filters
Fuel filter housings, brackets and the water separators fitted to diesel models. The filter element itself should always be bought new, but the housing, heater and priming bulb around it are the parts that crack and are worth sourcing used.
Injector Pumps
Rotary and inline diesel injection pumps off older TDI and SDI engines, plus the Bosch VE pumps used in Caddy and Transporter models. These are calibrated units, so we always supply the Bosch number stamped on the pump body with the quote.
Fuel Senders
Fuel level sender units and their float arms. A gauge that reads empty on a full tank or sticks at a quarter is nearly always a worn sender track, and on many VWs there is a sender in each half of the saddle tank.
